I love movies.

I've been watching movies since I was a little kid. I once braved to watch a movie alone in a theater when I was 10. It was in Tacloban's Cinema Theater. Obviously, they weren't strict in enforcing age limit for its movie-goers. That movie was "The Champ". Yeah, yeah, it had an emotional overload for a 10 year old kid, so no wonder the movie got me. Positively, it gave me my most favorite song in the world in "If You Remember Me" by Chris Thompson.

The movies catalogued here were watched when I was in elementary (grade school) and ends when I graduated from high school (so do the Math if there is still someone who doesn't know my age).

Some movies were released very early on, but I only got to watch them between the span of my elementary and high school years, hence they are included here. Of the hundreds of movies I watched, these are the few that made an impact in my young mind.

In my childhood days, when I was not busy reading at home or in my Aunt's library, I was busy ruining my eyes watching movies (and TV). I wear eyeglasses, btw. I either watched these movies in theaters with my mother or cousins, or braved some more to watch them in theaters alone or at home in Betamax.

These movies helped shaped my young and impressionable mind. I would say that these are the best movies that I watched way back then. Uhm, if I remember something that ought to be included here, I'll add it.

I also tried the art houses films during these catalogued years, but I never really got to appreciate them until I reached College. But that's a different catalog altogether.

I am so glad that C/S Channel 49 on Cable will air Al Pacino's "Scarface" on September 26, 2007 at 9:30 in the evening.
I have its silver anniversary edition and was so flabbergasted that the last four chapters didn't play well. Bitin na bitin, dammit.

Naveen Andrews, who plays Sayid Jarrah in LOST, has a movie with Jodie Foster. As Sayid, the faithful LOST followers are assured that the series characters they root for who are with Sayid will be protected as they swash and buckle one thrill after another thrill in the mysterious groups of islands where they are stranded. We are in awe with the Sayid character's skills and mastery in combat, reconnaissance, psychological warfare, and even torture. While we watch LOST, we feel confident that our favorite character who is with Sayid will be scooped up from harm as Sayid so adeptly brandishes his combat skills. And Naveen plays that with great aplomb.

Now that Andrews has a movie with Jodie Foster, I'm sure this would kick great arse. Foster has acted on one of the strongest and most solid female characters that we have loved and admired, that of being Clarice Starling in "Silence of the Lambs". For those who just emerged from their caves, Foster played Clarice like she was born to be the bravest and most intelligent female cadet FBI has ever produced and we forgot that it was a movie. We admired her fearlessness and display of tenacity against Anthony Hopkin's Dr Hannibal Lecter.

Foster has always been cast in roles of strong women like the one she played in Carl Sagan's "Contact" and of women who unwittingly gives off a hard emotional punch like her role in Scorsese's "Taxi Driver".

So with Andrews and Foster in this movie "The Brave One", everybody could expect one hell of a ride.

I'm actually interested to know why the tagline of their movie is "How many wrongs to make it right?" I know they are both right for the role. But watching the movie could be the actual judge of that.

DAMN.
I wrote some review (sans spoilers) of TRANSFORMERS and I saved it to drafts to do minor editing and went out for some cig. When I went back, the site was already on the homepage. I scrambled to look for it as "draft" but I couldn't the fuck find it. ANYWHERE. It was tedious making a review with pictures and all just to be lost. The fuck. My review was transformed to fuckin nuthin. Demn.
